David snapped some pictures of the babies just hanging out. I'll be sad when winter comes and I have to actually dress them even if we're just sitting around the house.

yo gabba gabba
For a while there you could distract Stella with some baby songs. Now that she's not as interested, Aaron has decided that he likes it a lot. But in a pinch we can distract them both with Yo Gabba Gabba. I've saved them all on the DVR and it's a surefire way to distract them for 20 minutes or so. Plus the show is a lot of fun AND David and I have added a lot of kids songs to our repertoire. Who couldn't use a song about sharing or waiting your turn? Stella certainly needs to learn the one about not biting.

repurpose the exersaucer
Stella prefers to crawl through the saucer or just hang out inside of the dish at the bottom rather than sit in it properly. She says only babies sit in it and then she looks at her brother. Hmmmm. She babbles but hasn't truly said a real word i think. But she does say Dada if you talk on the phone and she thinks it's her dad. Maybe she has made that connection but I honestly don't know. I do know that she's a wonderful mimic and will wave if you wave, or sigh if you sigh. She even says, "mmmm" when she's eating because her dad taught her that. I'm going to put her in her highchair and let her watch me wash bottles or make formula and see what she does with THAT knowledge.

Parade!
Looks like a 70's album cover don't you think? Here are the boys hanging out as the parade goes down the main street in Decatur for 4th of July. The kids were so good that day we were even able to have dinner and drinks with adults! We didn't, however, make it through the fireworks. 9 pm may be past my bedtime too. Maybe next year.

prison break
We've had to pen in the children since Stella is now crawling and cruising. Here she's pretending not to care but the minute I turn my back she's trying to figure out a way to escape. My biggest fear is she'll realize we keep food in that big box in the kitchen and that will become her new destination whenever she is free.
Man her cheeks are huge! It looks like she's got marshmallows in there.
