all about me

Stella likes to look at pictures of herself on my phone. They make her laugh something fierce. Aaron likes to see himself on the computer. I can't tell if they know they are looking at themselves or if they are just excited to see another baby.

swimfan

Aaron is currently the happiest baby in the world. He's totally in love with swimming. Look at the excitement on his face!

Again, I am a frog! Ribbit!!!!

Hey glad you could join me poolside. Pay no attention to my sister as she's currently trapped in her own towel. Brilliant. Ha ha.

Festival Time!

I think every weekend in May is packed with some festival or another. Memorial Day weekend was Decatur's turn so we wheeled the kids into town. Our only goal was to get Stella and Aaron balloons. Those of you with children know that you can plan out what you'd like to do but if one of your kids decides to take a nap 5 minutes before you plan to leave you can either wake them up (and EVERYONE will suffer later) or wait. We decided to wait for Stella to wake up and finally made it to town at 2:00 and not noon like we'd originally planned. But both kids were in great moods despite the heat and the crowds.

This is my balloon but I almost like the ribbon better.

Balloons are made for kicking!

Stella was so rough with her balloon that she lost it before we even got home. Aaron was happy to share his with her though. Sweet boy.

so tired

The pool just takes it out of ya.

Summer is here!

I know it's not officially here till June 21st, but summer is here in Atlanta. The babies and I went to visit Aunt Emily in Lawrenceville for a spend the night. The pool in her complex never closes so I was hoping the water would be a little warmer so we could go swimming. Well it wasn't really warm but neither of the kids seemed to care very much. Stella especially had a great time jumping up and down on the stairs and splashing. Aaron was content to be held and watch the bigger kids swim around. We were only there for an hour but it must have been exhausting because both kids basically fell asleep in the time it took us to walk back to the apartment. I guess we'll be spending this summer in the pool.

Family photo minus dad (who was sad to miss this first pool outing)

Oh and yes, I got a haircut. It's a little shorter than I'd planned but it seems that when I told my stylist I wanted my hair to the shoulder he decided that to the chin worked better for him. I guess that's what you get with a $12 haircut. Sigh.

reading with mom

Stella was taking a much needed nap so Aaron and I sat on the porch and read the lastest issue of Parenting magazine. I think he was just checking out the babies.

Nine Months!

I told the babies that they were nine months old today and this is the look they gave me.

I guess they couldn't generate any enthusiasm for the day because they got to spend it at the pediatrician's. It was just a well visit so no shots. It wasn't Aaron's favorite and he especially didn't like the doctor looking in his ears or mouth. But we did get to see that the little guy is about to get yet another top tooth which will bring his total up to 5. Stella still just has the bottom two but one is about to erupt on top as well. AND she crawled for the first time on Saturday and we got it on tape.

Aaron is firmly in the 50th percentile in height and weight at 20 lbs 3 oz and 28.5 inches long. Stella is between the 50th and 75th percentile at 19 lbs 8 oz and 28.5 inches. I think the nurse may have measured Stella a little long because I'm pretty sure she's shorter than her brother. Aaron, however, remains in the 90th percentile for head size. Dude has a giant noggin. It's all the thinking he does.

Stella flirted shamelessly with her doctor. She smiled and laughed at him. She even tried to trade him her giraffe for his stethescope. So I guess she's trading in her dreams of being a Zoologist to become a Doctor?

running

We finally got the jogging stroller fixed and Stella wanted to be the first to go out with Dad. She was so excited about the enterprise that 5 minutes into the run she fell sound asleep. This is how she looked by the time they got back.

Stella pretty much sleeps on her stomach now, but on the occasions she does sleep on her back, she puts her hands behind her head just like in the picture. I guess she likes to pose in her sleep.

AB

One of the babes finally got sick and of course it's Aaron. Look at this sweet pumpkin face.

He was teething so badly with those two that were coming in that this was usually how he looked. Well minus the fireman's hat.

And his dad got him to laugh even though his nose is running like a faucet and he's got a slight fever. And look at those new teefies on top!!

tucker days

So every year there is this event called Tucker Days. I've never been and David hasn't been in years. We went with another couple and their son and had a pretty good time. Unfortunately Aaron is cutting two teeth on the top - I have no idea why his are coming in in pairs. He had a total meltdown with his grandpa but that's another story. Anyway, the local government agencies were out so the babies watched their friend Ajay sit in a fire truck and check out the police cruiser. There was some guy in bear suit dressed as a police officer. Stella had to introduce herself.

crazy lady hair

I'm not sure what's up with stella's hair. It's mostly straight but has a little bit of curl, especially when it gets wet or is humid outside. For the most part its just poufy on top like an old lady with thinning hair who decides to get a perm for more volume. And I've given up trying to comb it.
